About Ghana Manufacturers Business Summit

The Business Executive Limited, conveners of the prestigious Ghana Industry CEO Awards, Ghana Trade & Commerce Awards, African Business Executive Excellence Awards, Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards, and Publishers of the widely circulated Business Executive Magazine, is pleased to introduce you to our industry targeted event called the: Ghana Manufactures’ Business Summit 2019.

This highly anticipated event is a sector specific concept designed to annually convene all stakeholders to deliberate on issues of growth opportunities, investment and challenges confronting the sub-sector and consistently seek ways to achieve progressive productivity. For the maiden event, the theme is: Achieving Growth Turn-Around in Manufacturing: The Role of Government. This theme has been carefully chosen to reiterate government’s responsibility to the sub-sector and to create a fresh forum for dialogue which would, in turn, provide us with insight to guide our intended intervention going forward.

We have deliberately singled out the manufacturing sub-sector for this special consistent focus because of its importance to Ghana’s economy and also, to compliment government’s efforts in real terms. The Minister for Trade and Industry will be the Special Guest of Honour and shall deliver the Keynote Address.

Objective

The paramount objective of the Ghana Manufacturer’s Business Summit is to kick-start the actual growth process of the manufacturing sub-sector and stay on it until actual results begin to manifest, and then subsequently sustain it. This shall be done through annual intra-sectoral rubbing of minds and direct engagement with the government, with the sole purpose of ultimately achieving enabling policy and economic environment for consistent growth. The Summit shall be so committed and functional it shall set up a system to track and measure the growth of the sub-sector from year to year, and shall offer information and data services.

The other objective (for 2019) is to discuss and examine how Ghana can benefit from the current United Nation’s declared decade (2016-2025) for Industrial Development (the Third Industrial Development Decade for Africa (IDDA III)).
